How can I check the balance of my account using my ATM card?

You can check the balance of your bank account using your ATM card at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). Here's how to do it:

1. Locate an ATM: Find an ATM belonging to your bank or one that is part of your bank's ATM network. Look for an ATM that displays your bank's logo or name.

2. Insert Your ATM Card: Insert your ATM card into the card slot of the ATM. Make sure you insert it with the magnetic stripe or chip facing the correct direction. The ATM will read the card.

3. Enter Your PIN: The ATM will prompt you to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Enter your PIN using the ATM keypad. This is the same PIN you use for ATM withdrawals and other transactions.

4. Select "Balance Inquiry": On the ATM screen, select the option for "Balance Inquiry" or a similar option. The specific wording may vary depending on the ATM and your bank.

5. View Your Balance: After selecting the "Balance Inquiry" option, the ATM will display your account balance on the screen. Take note of the balance or request a printed receipt for your records.

6. Complete the Transaction: If you have no further transactions to perform, you can select the option to end the transaction. Remember to remove your ATM card from the card slot.

7. Keep Your PIN Secure: Always ensure that your PIN remains confidential. Do not share it with anyone, and cover the keypad when entering it at the ATM to prevent others from seeing it.

8. Exit the ATM: Leave the ATM once your transaction is complete, and keep your receipt if you requested one.

If you are using an ATM that belongs to a different bank or is part of a different network, you may incur nominal fees for balance inquiries. To avoid fees, it's best to use an ATM within your bank's network.

Checking your account balance regularly is a good practice to keep track of your finances and ensure that you have sufficient funds for your financial needs. If you encounter any issues or have questions about your account balance, you can contact your bank's customer service for assistance.
